Andhra Pradesh Grama-Ward Sachivalayam Recruitment

State Chief Minister Shri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the secretariat with the main objective of bringing governance closer to the people and not giving in to corruption or discrimination. The new system was launched on October 2, 2019. However, a system of volunteers was launched on August 15, 2019 to provide government services to the homes of citizens.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has introduced the Village / Ward Secretariat system to strengthen services at the village level and to ensure transparent, accountable and corruption free services to the citizens with the aim of providing a robust delivery system. The system of village / ward secretariats is the first of its kind in decentralized governance in the country. A village secretariat was established for every 2000 population and a ward secretariat for every 4000 population. According to the AP Socio-Economic Survey 2019-20, 15,004 secretariats have been opened. 1,10,520 secretaries, 2,61,919 volunteers (Rural - 1,95,084 & Urban - 70,888) were recruited.
