APPSC General Studies and Mental Ability - Common Paper for All Exams

APPSC has made a few significant changes for all job recruitments. One such change is the introduction of a common paper “General Studies and Mental Ability”. This paper is not new to Group-I, Group-II, and Group-III exams. But it is new to the rest of the examinations.

How to Prepare?

If you are from a mathematics background, then two chapters “Logical Reasoning and Data Analysis” are easy. Practice them until you get confident that you can score 90% from these two chapters.

If you are from a humanities background, a few chapters are easy based on your degree. You should complete the reading of these chapters.

Polity and Governance, History and Culture, Geography and Environment, Economy and Development are known as classic General Studies subjects. You should master at least three of these four classic subjects.

Finally, Current Affairs, Science and Technology, and any leftover topics can be read.

Current Affairs
You should read current affairs from the last 6 months to 1 year. You should cover Andhra Pradesh related current affairs first, then give importance to National Current Affairs and finally read international current affairs. Among all these, Government Policies, Schemes & Programmes of India and Andhra Pradesh are of utmost importance.
